Content for an urgent website launch: a client checklist

Prepare service facts, copy, photographs, project evidence and contact details for website development. Check content readiness and agree the first release.

Start with the facts for one offer

An urgent launch needs a clear offer, verified terms, evidence customers can assess and a working contact route. Assemble one approved content pack. Give each missing item an owner, a due date and a decision: required before launch or deferred to a later phase.

This checklist covers content preparation. The separate urgent-launch guide covers functionality and the website-to-CRM workflow. If you need accounts, payments or resource tracking, include them in development scope before agreeing timing.

Urgent website and CRM launch: phase-one scope

What to include in the content pack

Service and audience
State the offer, who it suits, the problem it addresses and limitations buyers should know before enquiring. Prepare separate facts for distinct services.
Scope and terms
Explain what is included, separate costs, how pricing is determined and which timelines are confirmed. Identify the source and approver for each number.
Working process
Describe the customer’s steps, what they provide and what they receive. Explain the first step after an enquiry separately.
Work and supporting evidence
For each project: the task, your contribution, available images and a verified result. Mark publication approval and any anonymisation requirements.
Images and brand files
Provide the logo, photographs and required image variants. Give every file a purpose, caption and publication restrictions. Supply the available original rather than only a reduced presentation copy.
Contact and response handling
Provide public telephone and email details, available channels, any stated opening hours and the person handling enquiries. The contact route should reach an active process.
Existing site and launch
Include the current website, required pages, URLs to preserve during a rebuild and the people responsible for the domain and hosting. Transfer access separately through a secure process, without passwords in the brief.

Assign preparation and approval

The client verifies business facts and clears material for publication. The studio structures, edits and presents it within the agreed scope. One client-side owner consolidates comments and approves the final version. Assign these roles before starting so conflicting feedback can be resolved.

The working register needs a page or section, content item, source, preparer, approver, due date and status. A content deadline is separate from the website release date. Agree what happens if a launch-critical item is late: defer the section, change scope or revise the date.

Check the pack before calling it ready

  1. Facts are approved. Prices, timings, certificates, reviews and results have verifiable sources; missing facts are not filled with guesses.
  2. Each file has a clear purpose. The image shows the intended subject, essential text is readable and a phone crop can retain its meaning.
  3. Copy answers buyer questions: what they receive, suitability, terms and how to start. The pack contains more than company slogans.
  4. Publication is cleared in the agreed form. Private data is removed and captions describe your contribution and project status accurately.
  5. There is one current version. Feedback is consolidated, approved and deferred items are distinguishable, and the owner has confirmed readiness.

Use distinct content statuses

Draft means editing is in progress. Facts verified allows presentation work to proceed but does not replace approval of the final version. Approved for publication identifies the accepted version. Later phase keeps an item outside the current release. These statuses make missing content specific rather than vaguely almost ready.

Example: content for a service page

The Скилл Строй website separates service areas, with company information and client letters supporting supplier assessment. BYstudio delivered the website structure and development. For a similar service page, prepare a specific offer, work scope, evidence and next action. A general company description cannot answer every one of these questions.

Скилл Строй: service areas and a route to discuss the task.

For your own site, connect each image to a question it helps answer. Google recommends meaningful captions and alternative text that fits the image and page context. Prepare that description with the file; it is not a ranking promise. Google image guidance

Approve the first-release content pack

Hypothetical situation: service details and contacts are approved, while photographs of a new project and a review are still pending. You could launch the verified service with existing cleared material and add the new case later. If the service terms or enquiry handling are missing, resolve those first.

Before publication, check the actual copy, links, contacts, captions, mobile crops and consistency across languages. Agree separate acceptance checks for forms and integrations. Retain the approved content pack and deferred items with a version date.

BYstudio offers a free initial review. For a focused landing page, consider Express and its published scope, timing and start conditions. A corporate website or more involved workflow needs its own agreed scope.

Before handing over content

Do we need finished copy before contacting a studio?

No. An initial discussion can start with a plain-language description of the service and verified facts. BYstudio offers a free initial review. We assign structure, copy and image preparation when agreeing the work scope.

What if our photographs are not ready?

Decide what each image should demonstrate. Use suitable material cleared for publication or arrange a shoot. A section that depends on missing evidence can be deferred. A random image cannot establish completed work.

Can we use a competitor’s copy?

Use other websites to understand questions and possible structures. Prepare your own business facts, terms and wording. Do not present another company’s projects, reviews or performance as your own.

Do we need content in both languages immediately?

If both versions are in the first release, prepare matching facts and assign someone to verify the translation’s meaning. Service names, terms and contact routes should correspond.

Does prepared content guarantee an urgent launch?

It helps define scope, but timing also depends on functionality, approvals and integrations. A delivery date follows the initial review. Express start conditions are published separately on its page.

Tell us what
you need to build.

The initial task discussion is free. Describe it in your own words. A BYstudio specialist or Yan Bunin will respond.

For example: @username, a phone number or name@company.com

Describe the service, intended first release and missing content. Do not include passwords or private documents.
