Customer portal development

A portal is useful when customers repeatedly access materials, take actions or track progress. Start with one complete user journey.

Start with the decision

A restricted website section and a customer application carry different responsibilities. A portal needs users, permissions, data states and access support. An education product may need materials and progress; a service business may need documents and delivery status. Actual customer work determines the features.

First check whether an existing platform solves the task. Custom development makes sense when the product journey or integrations exceed its capabilities. A dashboard layout does not replace registration, access recovery and error handling.

The work and how to accept it

  1. Journey and roles

Describe the customer action and the boundaries for customers, specialists and administrators.

  2. Working version

Check the journey from sign-in to the intended outcome with agreed test data.

  3. Handover and operation

Deliver code, access and instructions; agree support and backups.

Scope boundaries

Payments, learning programmes, user migration and a mobile app are not automatically included. Each needs separate requirements. A prototype is not presented as a finished customer product.

Evidence from our work

The portfolio includes the Vika Guryeva project, providing a real product discussion. Other studio concepts disclose their stage so that working products and experiments remain distinguishable.

Practical questions

Can we launch a small first version?

Yes. Choose a useful, complete journey and state which features remain outside the first phase.

What happens after launch?

BYstudio normally provides 7-14 days of support for post-launch problems, depending on the project. Ongoing maintenance is agreed separately.

How to start

The initial review is free. A BYstudio specialist or Yan Bunin handles your enquiry. Describe the task, current tools and intended change. We then agree the first phase, price and acceptance criteria under a contract.
